The first CSA® certified figure skating helmet

Polyform has designed, produced and assembled, in collaboration with Protections Kocask Inc., figure skating helmets that meet the CSA® standard requirements.

This Canadian company developing figure skating protective gear wanted to tackle a new challenge. The owners were working on a new helmet concept for figure skating. The idea was to put on market something more attractive than traditional hockey helmets. On the other hand, they needed to meet the CSA standard established by the Standards Council of Canada for Ice Hockey Helmets: CSA Z262.1.

Polyform has found all components required to manufacture and assemble such a product. Our expertise in helmet production for many sports has allowed us to get almost all components in Canada. After some design changes, we managed to come up with helmets meetings the CSA Z262.1 requirements. This standard also requires that the product is very shock-resistant. That’s why we designed them in expanded polypropylene (EPP), a material recognized for its impact resistance.

Our team found the winning solution and was able to provide a finished product, approved by the CSA® standard. These helmets are now at many sport stores, including Patinage Plus in Laval, QC.
