Ecoresponsible Residential Renovations

Are you considering renovation plans with a positive impact on energy use or environmental impact? You can now obtain a “RenoVert” refundable tax credit that has been set up to promote ecoresponsible residential renovations to home owners and co-owners. It can be applied to work done on the building envelope or home mechanical systems, such as insulating or replacement of a heating system. Moreover, works focusing on improving water quality, water conservation, soil decontamination, and the installation of renewable energy devices are amongst the renovations that could allow you to obtain a tax credit up to $ 10,000.

On January 13th, 2016, Polyform obtained the ECORESPONSIBLETM certification, Level 1 – Engagement. This certification aims to put in place an action plan in order to maximize sustainable development management.

The office of energy efficiency and innovation of the Quebec Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources department is currently evaluating this certification for the possibility of applying it to the “RenoVert” tax credit. As of now, this credit offered by the Quebec government only includes Energy Star, Ecologo and GREENGUARD certifications.

If you’re planning on renovating, make sure to be familiar with ECORESPONSIBLETM certification and its influence on the “RenoVert” tax credit.
